Author Guidelines
IASR Journal of Agriculture and Life Sciences (IJALS) welcomes submissions of original and high-quality manuscripts in the fields of Agriculture and Life Sciences. Manuscripts must be written in English, must be original, must not be under consideration or published elsewhere, and must comply with the journal’s publication ethics and guidelines. Submission Requirements Manuscripts should be submitted through the journal’s online submission system as indicated on the journal website. All submissions must include the following: 1. Main Manuscript File – containing abstract, keywords, main text, figures and tables embedded. 2. Cover Letter – outlining the research significance and contribution. 3. Statement of Originality – signed by all authors. 4. Ethics Approval/Consent Forms 5. Supplementary Files – such as declaration letters or certificates Manuscript Types IJALS publishes the following manuscript types: • Original Research Articles • Review Articles • Short Communications • Case Reports / Case Studies • Technical Notes • Other scholarly contributions relevant to the journal scope. Authors should clearly identify the manuscript type at submission. Manuscript Structure and Formatting Manuscripts must be typed in a clear and readable font (e.g., Times New Roman) with appropriate spacing and margins. Suggested structure: 1. Title Page o Title (concise, descriptive) o Full author names with affiliations o Corresponding author contact details 2. Abstract and Keywords o Abstract: 150–250 words summarizing background, objective, methodology, key findings, and conclusion o 3–6 relevant keywords for indexing 3. Introduction o Background, literature context, research gap, and study objective 4. Materials and Methods o Detailed description of methods, study design, analytical tools, and procedures 5. Results o Clear presentation of findings with tables, figures, and supportive text 6. Discussion o Interpretation of results in context with existing literature 7. Conclusion o Summary of findings and implications 8. Acknowledgments (optional) 9. References o List all cited works in a consistent format (referencing style explained below) Figures and Tables • Figures and tables must be numbered and cited consecutively in the text. • Tables should include clear titles above the table. • Figures should include captions below the figure. • Ensure high resolution for images (minimum 300 dpi). References and Citation Style Authors are encouraged to use reference management software (e.g., Mendeley, Zotero, EndNote). References should: • Be recent and relevant to the study • Appear in the reference list only if cited in text • Follow a consistent and standard style (APA / Harvard / Vancouver — mention on your site what you prefer) Plagiarism and Originality All submissions are screened using plagiarism detection tools. Manuscripts must have a similarity index of less than 15% (excluding references). Plagiarism, duplicate submission, or data manipulation will lead to rejection. Language and Writing Quality Manuscripts must be clearly written in English. Authors are advised to check spelling, grammar, and scientific language before submission. Manuscripts with poor language quality may be returned for language editing. Peer Review Process IJALS follows a double-blind peer review process. Submissions passing initial editorial screening are sent to at least two independent reviewers. Authors may be requested to revise manuscripts based on reviewer feedback. Final acceptance rests with the editorial board. Submission Preparation Checklist Before submission, authors must confirm that: • The manuscript is original and not published elsewhere • The manuscript file is in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format • Abstract and keywords are included • Figures and tables are embedded appropriately • All required documents (cover letter, ethics forms) are uploaded Ethical Considerations Authors must disclose any conflicts of interest and confirm that all authors have approved the submission. Studies involving human subjects, animals, or sensitive data must include appropriate ethical approvals.
